During the Civil War, resources were at a premium in the South with the production of saltpetre high on the list. Using a Google Form students will go on a short webquest (just one page on my website) to learn about the shortage of gunpowder in the South, how they tried to fix it, and they'll even get to sing a period specific song about the adventure. Included in this lesson there is also a paper version along with a formal lesson plan detailing how I teach the lesson, along with pacing etc. What you'll be downloading here is a pdf with instructions on how to make your own copies of the Google Form, Google Sheet, Student Google Doc, and Teacher Edition Google Doc, that I use to teach this lesson. My class is fully in the Google Classroom, so I no longer use the paper editions, however, still will include them here. The multiple choice section of the Google Form will grade itself and I've included instructions on what to look for there. Kids love this one. Enjoy!
