Product Description
Purpose:

The purpose of this lesson is to review the advantages that each side possessed at the start of the Civil War, geographically organize the battle plans of the North and South, and analyze how those plans were applied throughout the war. This is a great lesson to do if you want to simplify how your students view Civil War battles since the sheer number of them can understate the importance of a few. This lesson seeks to highlight the most important battles, the reasons they were fought, and how they applied to each side’s strategy while seeking to refresh your student’s sense of US geography (for your visual learners). By the end of class your students should be able to explain the differences in strategy, name a few of the most important Civil War battles and why/ what they were fought over.
