My powerpoint presentations are typically short and sweet. You will not see slides with an overwhelming amount of information. I use these presentations after my kids have had the chance to explore the topic through text and other resources.
This 22 slide presentation will give your students the essence of the events that led to the Civil War. It discusses the Cotton Gin, Nat Turner's Rebellion, Missouri Compromise, Compromise of 1850, Uncle Tom's Cabin, Lincoln-Douglass Debates, Dred Scott, Fugitive Slave Act, Republican Party, Kansas Nebraska Act/Bleeding Kansas, and John Brown's raid. In my classroom, we typically would use this for cornell note writing in their history notebook. These notes are often used to assist with writing prompts, projects, and study material for tests.
Please see my add-on product for a flip book assignment with a rubric that is a great accompaniment to this powerpoint.
