Working in pairs (larger groups or individually works as well), students will research the people, places and events surrounding the Civil War and Reconstruction. Students will compile their findings in a timeline (how the timeline is structured is based on student choice).
There is emphasis on NOT using Wikipedia as a source. Alternative links are provided and instructions on how to conduct a Google search is listed. As well, there are links to citing websites that will allow students to copy and paste the links where they found their information and a citation will be generated.
There is also a section where textbook information is listed. We used the History Alive! series. I omitted the page numbers so that you may enter your own textbook pages that cover similar content.
