UNIT 9: THE CIVIL WAR IN SOUTH CAROLINA
The Civil War in SC Unit is a comprehensive eight- to nine-day (approximately 45 minutes per day) instructional unit. This package includes:
1) The Civil War in SC Unit Lesson Plans
~Written in Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI) format. Each day includes a Learning Objective, Activating Prior Knowledge (APK) activity, Mini Lesson, Guided Practice activity, Independent Practice activity, and Active Closure activity.
2) Civil War in SC PowerPoint (98 slides) and SmartBoard
~Key Concepts: Abolitionist Movement, States’ Rights, Election of 1860, Secession Convention, Firing on Ft. Sumter, Blockade of Charleston, The Hunley, Robert Smalls, Sherman’s March, and the Daily Lives of South Carolinians.
~The PowerPoint and SmartBoard presentations contain the same information. I’ve just included both formats for those of you who do not have SmartNotebook software.
3) SC Government Study Guide (2 pages)
4) SC Government Assessment (4 pages)
~Includes higher-order thinking multiple choice, short answer, and spiral review questions.
