NGSS Standards are here! And we are all looking for valuable resources. In this activity, students read an article related to making cheese. As they read they color code the claim, the evidence to support that claim, and the scientific reasoning. Choosing three different colors allows students to organize their thoughts and differentiate between the three. This is great to get students reading, familiar with CER, and also great if you need sub plans! You can incorporate the new standards even if you're not in class one day!
