PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This activity has a major wow factor! Fire and floating ghosts make for a really fun activity to show how convection currents move through the air. This activity is a little different than my other scientific argument activities. Instead of starting with a question and a prediction, this activity starts with the hands on activity.. I have all the students set up their tea bags in the launch area and then I light them one or two at a time. Lots of oohs and aahs.

What you get:
- Teacher presentation with directions to guide students through the activity
- Student reflection sheet to write their Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning
- Focused reading about convection to help students with their reasoning

Needed Materials:
Tea bags – I use Numi or Tazo tea – they consistently work well
Scissors
Sharpies
Paper cups
Matches or a lighter (for teacher use)

This activity is part of my C-E-R Physical Science Bundle . Buy more get a great price!
