Aligned with TEKs 8.5E, this activity is a great review of chemical changes. Students will need access to technology to complete the activity, or you can edit the assignment to be used with 12 examples you give them. Students start with their claim (the example is/is not a chemical change), then give evidence, and finally their reasoning (a new substance was produced). Repetition helps them to remember that chemical reactions produce new substances. Includes a sped/ELL version where they are given sentence stems.
