Animal Clap the Syllables!
Here is a fun way to practice breaking apart words into syllables. This activity will help children hear the sounds (or chunks) in each word and the order in which they are spoken. More advanced students can place slashes where the syllables are separated.
Students can also practice writing tracing the words!
There are two ways to use this activity!
1. Simply cut apart the cards and staple into a book for each student.
2. Simply laminate, cut out and hole punch so that the cards can be put on a ring. Use a dry erase marker to trace the words and circle the correct number of syllables.
