This resource has been created as a fun activity for your students to practice syllables skills you have previously taught.
What’s included in this resource:
- A 20 slide PowerPoint lesson that can be used to present the lesson.
- An optional PDF worksheet to go along with the lesson. Both color and black & white versions are included, as well as an answer sheet.
The teacher reads the word on the screen and asks the students how many syllables they hear in each one. (See sample 1) The children clap silently and write the answer in the blank box on their worksheets. (See sample 2) The teacher then clicks on the picture to reveal the correct answer. The word appears and is broken into the correct syllables. The teacher and class can clap together along with a picture of the correct number of clapping hands. The number of syllables appears in the box. (See sample 3)
(This lesson has the very same material as the Flipchart version.)
