This is a whole class writing activity to accompany the story, Clark the Shark by Bruce Hale. Perfect for the first week of school to bind into a book or an emergency sub tub! My students love to read class created books and I'm sure your class does too! Do you do a shark or ocean unit? Your students will love this activity!
Story: Clark zooms into school, crashes through the classroom, and is rowdy at recess. When Clark’s enthusiasm is too much for his friends, his teacher helps him figure out a way to tone it down. Sharing is Caring!
Suggestion: Clark the Shark is a great read aloud book for back to school and the excitement, but we must learn about classroom rules and procedures so that EVERYONE is safe and happy! After reading the story, you can create an anchor chart listing what they do in Clark's classroom and what you do in your classroom. (Blog pictures to follow.) Students may then brainstorm rules that they think are important. Each child can then create a page for the classroom book.
* Cover for class book
