The misunderstandings and cultural differences between North and South American natives and the European explorers, created conflict throughout the 16th century. Through this activity, students will understand what these misconceptions stemmed from and the differing points of view they each had of the other.
In addition to the historical application, students will also practice the reading skill of first person, second person, and third person point of view as they write sentences sharing one from either a Native 1st,2nd,3rd point of view or an explorer 1st, 2nd, or 3rd point of view.
