The Class Activity - Cards and Graphs - Linear Equations was created by Pupsaroni Puzzles for the Algebra 1 or Algebra 2 classroom to help students practice finding properties of linear equations. The class activity is set up so that students work several different problems alone or with partners while walking and talking and working together. Seventy eight graphs are included for teachers to choose from, and 2 sets of activity cards are available for students to use. Teachers can color-code the cards to help determine which students worked various problems and to ensure students worked on 8 different graphs over the two activity periods. Concepts practiced in this activity are finding the constant rate of change, finding points to fill in a table, finding the slope, using a function machine, writing function notation of a line, finding the x-intercept, finding the y-intercept, and determining how to write an equation in slope-intercept form. Students can see relationships between the various concepts and put them together to see the bigger picture. The 3 pages at the end of this 84 page document give the equations that are supposed to be represented by each graph in case there is a question about some of them.
