Product Description
My students absolutely loved this activity and it was a great way to manage their behaviors. While learning about the Civil War, we created a class army with myself as the general. The students were promoted based on a point system (see below). The students could earn points by performing well on tests, demonstrating good behavior or completing additional tasks. When a student was promoted to the next class, we had a promotion ceremony. All of the students would stand at attention and I would play the song, “Marine’s Hymn” while the student(s) being promoted would parade down the aisle. The student(s) being promoted would recite the military oath (you can find it online). Then they would receive their next military identification card. Higher ranks had greater rewards such as a higher classroom pay scale, getting to choose activities and being first in line
