In my class, we celebrate birthdays BIG time! Every student makes a birthday page for the special birthday boy or girl and then I compile the pages into a book that we read to the birthday person as part of our gift to them!
Since I am moving to Second Grade next year, I needed to make a new cover and thought I'd share with all of YOU! Enjoy!
Simply print a class set of covers, laminate, and trim. Have each student complete a page for the birthday student. I give the birthday student a birthday coloring page to complete while the class works on their pages. Don't forget to make a page too!
I compile my book with the birthday student's page first, then the class pages, then my page, and then a card stock back cover. You can comb bind, hole punch and tie with yarn, or staple the book together. My birthday student sits in our special "Share Chair" and each student comes up and reads their page to the birthday student. It's fun AND it covers many of the Speaking and Listening standards too!
