I use this book for my Star of the Week writing. A student writing page with a box inserted for a picture is also included but it doesn't thumbnail properly. I have also used this book format for a gift to student teachers. I edit the title, star's name and the date for each book.
Here is an example of how I use these books:
For this book "Sally Cheers Us On" , each member of our class imagined themselves doing a sporting event with Sally cheering them on. One student in the class is selected to begin the story and set the scene. A second student is selected to end the story, Each other student wrote their own one page story about the topic beginning with their event already started and ending at the conclusion of their activity. The student writing was peer edited before being submitted, copied and assembled. The original went home with the star and the copy was kept in our class made books bin. This is a great weekly writing activity for any grade.
