This Community Building Puzzle is a great activity to engage students in working together at the beginning of the year or any time you need to build community. Each student decorates a piece of the puzzle. As a class, students construct the puzzle. Divide students into two teams (one for the boy puzzle and one for the girl puzzle).
To prep: Print out each piece on card stock. Cut apart or have students cut apart the puzzle pieces. Put the M or F on the back for the male or female puzzle. Optional: Outline each piece in thick black marker.
There are 26 puzzle pieces. To make more, cut one or more pieces in half. If you have extras, leave some blank for new students or classroom helpers.
Be sure to print the pieces at 100%. Do not scale the images.
