This will be a community building PBL launched in the beginning of the school year. Students will work together to create classroom constitutions that set clear expectations for behavior, rules, procedures, goals, class work, and the overall climate of our classroom for the upcoming school year. In doing so, students will not only create a constitution that they will have to sign and abide by throughout the year, but also gain a deeper understanding of the US constitution and what our founding fathers created. The 5th grade Social Studies curriculum is dedicated to the US history leading up to the constitution, so this lesson will come full circle at the end of the school year.
