This editable class dictionary allows your students to keep a record of the vocabulary they are learning from close reads or from thematic units of study. The pages are differentiated with scaffolded support so that your pre-writers and advanced writers alike can participate in this collaborative literacy project.
You can designate a "word collector" or have all students fill out the word sheets as you complete a close read or theme study. The pages also function as an assessment of their understanding of new vocabulary! Simply enter the words you are studying, add an anchoring visual (if desired), cut up the slips and hand them out! Students can draw, draw and write, or draw, write and define the words or phrases you provide.
