Now your students can share journals and comment on each others' entries. These class journal covers are sized to fit the front of a composition notebook (think: old-school black and white marble).
I keep a set of these journals in a basket every year for my early finishers to explore. I leave post-it notes and pens in the basket so that students can respond to each others' writing.
This is a great, low pressure way to keep kids imagining and writing! They can be used as a free-time filler or an assigned center/station.
Descriptive and explanatory/expository topics include dreams, inventions, friends (compare/contrast), vacations, and more!
