I have my students work on this
culminating task each year at the end of our Economics unit.
The students love working together to create and sell their
homemade goods and services. Each year we open our classroom
malls to all grades in our building. Students buy our items
using real money, but you can of course use play money if you
would rather. Any money our kids make go to field trips, class
supplies, and our big end of the year bash. We have also
donated our profits to a charitable organization.
Students are allowed to sell various goods and services including
food, hand made jewelry, nail painting, etc. Notes go home to
our parents as well as parents of the students in our school.
It is truly amazing to see the excitement and hard work that
students put into this project. I've included the plans we use
during this unit. Please feel free to follow the plans, or
create your own! I hope you and your students enjoy this
