One thing about middle school kids is that they truly straddle the line between still being kids and becoming adults. At first, I figured by 7th grade, they would no longer like things that I had used in teaching elementary school, such as having a class pet (our goldfish is named Wonder Woman), HomeWorkOpoly or working in the classroom. And that's true for many of the kids. However, others respond to these.
In this resource, each semester, kids apply or re-apply for jobs in the classroom. These jobs include: Fish Feeder, Classroom Library Caretaker, Agenda Charter, and Class Photographer/Reviewer. The resource includes a three page "application," which includes the students getting references, as well as a complete set of job descriptions. It also contains the Job Awards Letters.
