This is a great way to give students the responsibility to keep track of the topics we discussed during class meetings and practice even more skills!
I have included this as a role on our "Job Chart" so depending on how often you hold class meetings or rotate your job chart, each student will have a chance to document class meetings.
This is also a great way to give each student a real life writing task where they will focus on the importance of writing clearly to communicate their thoughts. They will have to listen to the class conversation take notes about the most important topics, summarize information and even retell their notes at the end of the meeting. Some students even liked to go back and read the notes from past meetings or add topics to future agendas when they finished their work early.
