Class Money Token Economy for Special Education

Token economies are a part of many autism classrooms. They are often used to increase appropriate behaviors.
Here is a no-fuss, easy to implement money token economy system for the special education classroom. Many students with disabilities understand that money has value, so it is a great reinforcer to use for students. This token economy system will allow students to use money to buy backup reinforcers, such as time on the computer or a favorite activity. Students will earn quarters for each period that they have appropriate behavior. There is also coin token economy for students who need more frequent reinforcement. Using money as tokens is a great way to seamlessly blend your classroom management with teaching about money.
