Kids love listening to music in the classroom. Whether it's while they work in groups or as a reward when there's time left at the end of class, kids love it. Give students a sense of ownership in the classroom by letting them vote on the songs they want on their class soundtrack.
Have each student pick one song they want on the sound track. Once they've done this read each song out loud and have the class vote on which 15 songs make the cut.
You can find virtually any song on YouTube and make a folder with your new class soundtrack in it.
