Even though we teach grammar in context, it sometimes helps to have a mini-lesson or practice to review. This power point includes similes about sentences. Try to get students to create their own. This is especially valuable for ELL students. There is a chart that is easily printed or can be a template to create cloze notes to differentiate.
Answers are provided, sentences build upon each other, and students are engaged. You can use this as an opener for whole group, a station or literacy center to review or scaffold, a formative assessment, or to prepare for "Stalking Sentences" another activity you can find in my store.
Thanks for stopping by!
