This includes three activities that can be done individually, in small groups, or as a class.
The first activity asks the child to list objects in the classroom and then classify them into groupings. The goal of this is teach that classification is done based on attributes.
The second activity is a mnemonic builder for the child create their own mnemonic to remember the taxonomic ranks of living organisms. The goal is for the child to learn the taxonomic ranks.
The third activity is a graphing activity wherein the child will graph the number of species of vertebrates, invertebrates, and plants. The goal of this is to allow the child to discover the difference in the number of invertebrates compared to all other living things.
