This STEM inquiry lab exposes students to the true nature of research in the form of CER (Claim Evidence and Reasoning) for classifying living things. Students will have to make a hypothesis within their journal, document evidence and support their final claim with evidence. This lab allows students to first experience the overall driving phenomenon and start using logic and reason to figure out why it occurs. This STEM lab includes suggested uses, journal with recording sheets, real images, two inquiry labs for animals and plants with directions, graphic organizer and reflection sheet.
