Geometry is looking quite different in 5th grade than in years past. Students have to categorize polygons in different hierarchies and subsets along with classifying triangles by their sides and angles.
If your students are struggling with these higher level thinking skills, this is the product for you! In the download there are 8 comprehensive sheets that will challenge your students and ask them to fill in various hierarchy sets, answer open ended questions as well as multiple choice practice.
Answer documents are included for teacher quick check or student self-check at centers. I use these for small group practice lessons and homework. You can also put them in sheet protectors and have them at centers for the students to fill out with expos and they can use the answer documents to check for understanding.
This document is aligned to Texas 5.5A Classifying 2D figures in a hierarchy of sets and subsets (readiness) and Common Core 5.G.B.3 and 5.G.B.4
