Classifying Matter - CLOZE Reading Passage and Graphic Organizer

This CLOZE reading overviews the categories of matter and introduces students to the following concepts: matter, atoms, elements, compounds, molecules, mixtures, heterogeneous, and homogeneous.

The back of the page contains a graphic organizer. Students can pull information from the CLOZE read to complete the chart. The third page contains the answer key.

CLOZE passages are incredible ways for students to reinforce critical concepts and vocabulary, build reading comprehension and stamina, develop context clues skills, and also expand their language and fluency skills.  CLOZE reads are especially helpful for struggling readers and ESOL students.
