Product Description
This activity gets kids up and moving. I have all students stand up and move towards the middle of the room. I put the signs up around the walls of my classroom for irrational numbers, rational numbers, integers, whole numbers, and natural numbers. I announce a number from the cards below. Without talking, the students move to the area where the answer is posted on the wall. The answer must be the most specific classification of the number. Then I pick a student to explain why they are standing there. Then students can discuss or defend their location. I will also ask the students if there is another classification of the number. For example the most specific might be a natural number but the number is also a real number, rational number, integer and whole number. I put the most specific answers on the cards.
