Did you know a rectangle is not a square but a square is a rectangle?
Well my fifth grade class had a lot of trouble understanding that concept.... So I created this theory of "Clubs"
Students can clearly see which shapes belong to which clubs by the breakdown of characteristics.
Have students create the foldable (or simply print the one I made) and students can check off the characteristics of each shape, if that shape meets all the requirements then it can be a part of that club!
This topic can be confusing so there are full teacher directions.
