In this week long unit on classifying quadrilaterals, students help Lindsey, whose homework assignment blew all over the floor after leaving her window open. Kids will classify quadrilaterals based on their attributes (number of sides, side length, right angles, parallel lines) and aligns with 3rd grade common core standard 3.G.A.1. While this was specifically made for 3rd grade, it is useful for other grades as well. A suggested pacing of the lessons is included.
Students will learn about:
-What are attributes?
-What makes a quadrilateral a quadrilateral?
-What are the different types of quadrilaterals (kites, trapezoids, parallelograms, rhombus, rectangle, square)
The unit includes:
-The Problem with practice sheets
-Link to song
-Classifying Quadrilaterals Hierarchy
