This is a great and simple activity to use on the first day or school or the first week of school. It gets kids up and talking to new classmates, while trying to play a game at the same time.
It gets students reading, practicing to writing their name and trying to learn more about their new and maybe old classmates.
The first student who yells BINGO, I will have them help other students who may look like they are having a hard time finding people to talk to or fill in their paper.
Once the whole class is finished, I have everyone sit down in a circle and I ask them to raise their hand to tell me something new they have learned about another classmate. I try to ask them to point out who that person is as well as saying their name. This way the whole class gets to learn all the other students names as well.
