This is a lei that can be used as a general thank you. Please look at my other products for specific leis for librarians, school administrators, classroom helpers, and more!
A lei is usually a garland of flowers that can be given to others as a symbol of aloha. Aloha is the Hawaiian word for love, peace, compassion, hello, and goodbye.
Leis can be given to others to symbolize friendship, give thanks, or used as a welcome. The presenter of the lei places it on the recipient and gives them a hug. We can use leis in schools to teach our students about thankfulness and appreciation for people that help us in our classroom.
This “Thank You Lei” activity can be ongoing throughout the school year. It is a great activity to give to early finishers or to complete with a substitute teacher.
My students give our leis to other teachers, administrators, and visitors that come into our classroom. We also show appreciation to people we meet on field trips, presenters at our school, resource teachers and people that donate time or resources to our classroom. My students love seeing how happy people get when they receive one of their custom made thank you leis.
