In my classroom I use colored paper with clips that have my student's names on them to help with my classroom management. Throughout the day my students can move their clips up or down the poster (moving through various colors) as they make choices in the classroom, the cafeteria and on the playground. At the end of the day whatever "color" my student's clips are on, they take home the corresponding card. It is such as easy way to communicate with parents on the type of day their child has had. I photocopy the cards onto colored construction paper and cut them out so I always have them on hand! The cards that have space for a parent signature will have a handwritten (by me) note on the back describing for the parent the difficulties their child has had. Every day the students, no matter where they are on the chart the day before, begin on "green" which is the "Ready to Learn" card. I hope these cards help make your communication with parents as easy as possible!
