I am a 2nd grade teacher who also happens to have a deep love for Harry Potter. In my classroom I read the Harry Potter books for our 10 minute read aloud each day. My kids love it.
I am also a teacher who is a huge advocate for having your students help create the classroom behavior plan. My kiddos help me come up with a Harry Potter themed behavior plan in our classroom and I decided to make it into something awesome! I began this incentive program right before Christmas break because the one I had been using just wasn't working. This was has been FANTASTIC! It's like I have a whole new classroom because the kids love it.
The idea for this program is that the students are divided into 4 groups (each of the Hogwarts houses) and they earn points throughout the month for their house. Whichever house or houses (yes more than 1 house can earn the same amount of points and get the incentive at the same time)earns the most points by the posted incentive due date, then they get the monthly incentive. I have done many lunch bunches with a movie and a special snack I brought in and they love that one. The incentive can be whatever you choose.
Wizard money coupons also come with this pack as individual points for good behavior. It is all explained in detail in the pack.
If your a fan of Harry Potter or fiction or fantasy or magic then this is a great behavior plan for you! It has been the most successful plan I have used yet!
