This activity is an engaging way for teachers or students to discuss what problem behaviors occur in the classroom and what consequences should happen when they occur. It allows for students/teachers to come to an agreement of acceptable policies to eliminate or encourage classroom behaviors. In a follow up meeting, they can come up with a plan for the school or class to address behavior policies. The time frame on how long you want groups to work is up to you: it can be as short as 30 minutes or as long as an hour.
I have used this in faculty meetings, in workshops, in Professional Learning Communities, and in my own classroom.
This five page document comes with the terms you need (they are editable so feel free to add more or take some away), an instruction sheet, and pictures of the completed activity. It is recommended that you use Post it Notes and provide groups with a pen. If you have any questions please reach out to me at DrDrewBailey@gmail.com
