Tired of spending lots of money on books only to lose track of them? Need a quick and easy way to keep students accountable when borrowing books? This chart helps you keep you on track! Students write the date, their name, title of book they are borrowing, and book price (so they are aware of the cost of a missing or damaged book). After the student writes the above information on the chart, the teacher initials so they are aware that a student is borrowing a book. When a student returns a book, they mark the date they are returning the book and the teacher initials next to that date. The student returns the book to the shelf and the transaction is complete. It only takes a few seconds to complete and keeps a nice record of books leaving the classroom! Students need books in their hands!
This can be tweaked to help math teachers keep track of manipulatives or science teachers to keep track of lab materials.
