Parents want open communication and to have a clear picture as to what a teachers' expectations are and how to reach their child's teacher. This parent guide brochure does just that. It is easy to edit to suit your needs and contains information that you wish to communicate to parents. It is a tri-fold panel brochure format. The topics covered are the following: a communication message and teacher contact information, suggested school supplies, a teacher's philosophy (a simple paragraph), behavior and homework expectations, newsletter information, a paragraph about the teacher, and tips for parents to help their child at home with their assignments.
Last year was the first time I tried it and parents found it very helpful since the most important information they needed to have throughout the year was at their fingertips. I sent this home with students on the first day of school and had copies available at open house.
I created a template for a newsletter that is in my store that you can use in your classroom.
