Do you struggle to find time to teach enough about events in history in your classroom? This Day in History classroom calendar gives an event that happened sometime in history on that particular date. Classroom numbers for every day of each of the 12 months are included. Included in the file are all the components needed to form the letters and words in the bulletin board and get you ready for back to school.

Here are the included elements:

- calendar title

- 365 calendar cards (all 12 months included)

- days of the week and month labels

While there is history from many different countries included in the cards, a lot of the cards reflect American history, and would probably serve better for those teaching in American schools. Also, while I shied away from most murders and other gruesome events, there are a few included that I felt were important to history (assassination of a president, etc.) For this reason, I wouldn't suggest this resource to anyone under fourth grade (maybe even fifth).

Please note: Because I needed to make the numbers large enough to read the text, these will not fit on a standard calendar poster like you would get from a teacher supply store. I just make my own background with squares of colored paper in a grid, or you could use marker or tape to get that same effect.

Each calendar number measures roughly 4" wide and 4 1/4" tall.

Check our the companion to this product, a full year of morning work covering these same events in more detail. The morning work contains questions related to comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, and more:
