This is the perfect activity to complete at the start of the school year as children are getting to know each other.
Australian Curriculum Link – Interpersonal Development (working at Level 3 and 4).
Children complete the worksheet, thinking about their favourite things. When they are finished, children walk around the room finding someone in the room they share a connection with. Children write the name of the child with the same answer as them next to their answer.
This activity can then be used to make a bulletin board by taking a photo of each child. Place pictures scattered on a bulletin board. Print off the puzzle piece page. Children choose one thing from their worksheet and write their answer on the puzzle piece.
Children use string to connect the picture of themselves with their peer who had the same answer (the teacher will need to help with this) and staple their puzzle piece on the connecting string. The bulletin board will show each child in the class with string connecting class members and displaying how they are connected.
Both spellings of favourite are included. Please make sure you print off the most appropriate worksheet for your class.
