Product Description
Use these “classroom coupons” as an alternative to expensive treasure box treats. Children don’t need costly rewards as motivators. (Believe it or not, one of my students’ favorite treats is being able to work without their shoes on... and a close second is letting a child move his or her desk to any desired spot in the room for one day.)

You’ll find a variety of classroom coupons in this packet, including ones that sound a little more like jobs (or chores, actually}. Over the years I’ve learned that all children are wired differently and some get a lot of satisfaction out of leading or serving others. You’d be surprised how some children find using the broom or sharpening pencils to be motivating. Still, others would rather bring in a stuffed animal from home and spend reading time with their favorite teddy bear.

There are 55 different classroom coupons in this packet. Choose the ones that will work best for you. I like to start out with a small amount at the beginning of the year and introduce 1 or 2 more each month so there’s always something new to look forward to.

Because individual district and school policies vary, I don’t suggest a specific behavior plan in this packet. Rather, I suggest using these coupons within your existing plan, replacing costly candy and toy treats with these coupons. When and how often you use them is up to your discretion and depends on your classroom management plan.

For many of the coupons, there is a boy and girl version. To save money and time in the long run, consider copying the coupons in color and laminating them for durability. When a child “redeems” a coupon, it is turned back in to you. In this way, they’re available for the following year.
