The goals of this system are to teach your students skills they will need in the real world: budgeting, managing funds, delayed gratification, responsibility, ownership, logical consequences, and being a citizen.

An overview: This system requires students to apply for jobs, interview for their position, and then carry out
their responsibilities with care. They will do so once a
quarter, meaning they will have the opportunity have 4 jobs throughout the school year. Students must also
pay rent for their desk (and can purchase them if they
save enough money), keep a transaction register of
their funds, earn sand dollars for positive behaviors, and lose sand dollars for unacceptable behaviors. Students also have the opportunity to purchase items at a monthly silent auction, but must be aware of their funds so they are able to pay their rent. In short, students get a taste of life in the “real world” by taking responsibility for many of their own actions and choices.

As always, my goal is to make teaching a breeze!
