Use this as a first day of school activity to get students moving.
I place these cards on anchor chart paper and keep them around the room for the first month of school.
Have students go around the room and think about what they know a ELA block should look like. Afterwards, spend some time discussing and practicing these classroom expectations. Don't forget to emphasize the ones that mean the most to you.
If students are not following expectations, remind them that we as a class came up with the necessary expectations of a successful learning environment.
