Connections with our students have become one of the most important things to my sister and I. The connections help with so much, from classroom management to student growth. Not only are connections with our students so important, but creating connections between our students is critical too. These Classroom Goals are just one way that helps build connections with your students. I created these goals when I wanted to keep my students more on track during our school year in a positive way. They have now become a staple in my class.
How I use them:
At the beginning of every month, I look at what my students need to work on and choose a goal for them. We then practice and model that goal to know what we're working on. We also decide on a class reward together when we do meet the goal. With the goals, there are words that students need to work toward spelling. Every time the whole class achieves the goal they earn a letter of that word. When they spell out the whole word they earn the reward. I never take letters, just give. This is meant to be positive. They have to work as a class to work toward the class goal. Good luck and I hope this helps with student connections and positive classroom management.
