This classroom guidance lesson introduces students to a 3-step method to resolving conflicts. Students observe a role play peer mediation scenario and then create their own role plays to demonstrate learned skills. This activity is ideal for teaching conflict resolution skills and for recruiting students for your peer mediation program!
Includes: lesson plan (objectives, outline, materials list, ASCA standards alignment), all necessary visual aids, foldable reference handout for students, conflict scenario cards for student-led role plays (includes blank cards for create-your-own) and objectives assessment checklist.
I use this lesson with fifth grade, but it is appropriate for grades 4-6.
