This classroom guidance lesson is designed for upper elementary students beginning a new year. Much like adults, student tend to assume they know everything about their peers because they've spent time with them in previous school years. This lesson gives students the opportunity to tell their peers things they might not already know about them and encourages students to constantly seek to learn new things about others and to not assume based on past experiences.
Includes lesson plan (objectives, outline, materials list, ASCA standards alignment), handout example, handout, and objectives assessment checklist.
Additional materials needed: a 1"x1" photo of each student printed prior to lesson or a camera for taking pictures and printing later (students may also draw themselves!). I use this lesson with fifth grade, but it is appropriate for grades 4-5.
This lesson is also included in my Fifth Grade Classroom Guidance Lesson Bundle
