I always found it difficult to keep up with classroom jobs on a weekly basis. I created this job application which allows my students to apply for jobs they really want (meaning they'll actually get done). Since the job application adds an extra layer and takes a little more time, I only switch jobs every quarter. At the beginning of the quarter we review the jobs, students complete their application...selecting their top 3 choices. I do my best to work within those choices, however we all know some jobs are more popular than others. The application allows me to choose the right student for each position. Students must also explain WHY they would be good at the job they chose.
In this packet you will also find job titles & descriptions which can be printed on address labels, job title tags, and job title/description tags. I even included a blank job application in case you'd like to fill in your specific classroom jobs.
Classroom jobs included:
Line Leader - Job Foreman - Recess Runner - Messenger - Mail Carrier - Lunch Service - Class Spy - Pencil Pickup - Tech Support -Room Service - Door Holder - Board Eraser - Librarian - Paper Passer - Caboose - Student Assistant - Vacation
*Depending on your class size you may have 2 or more students with one job. For example, I always had a boy and girl line leader, I had 2 mail carriers, 2 librarians, sometimes a few students on vacation if they didn't want a job that quarter, etc.
