*Application letter to your students
*Editable PPT for you to use when you announce who was hired for each job
*Printables for your assistant's planner and folder
Hi friends! Alrighty, let me explain how I use these documents in my room. The whole “hired” and “fired” idea is BRAND NEW for me this year. My previous classes have been great about completing their jobs (I rotated them weekly). However, this year’s class just could not keep up with what job they had for the week, and they would often forget to do their work (or it would be a last minute effort for them). With that said, I wanted to create a classroom that ran more efficiently, so I created this! I gave each of my students a copy of the letter, and I explained to them that each of them would have to apply for a position. I stressed that they needed to pick a job that would be a great fit for them. For example, my assistant could NOT be in band, because I have them complete various tasks during that time. They had two days to work on their letters, and then I decided which students would fill the various positions in my room. I announced who was hired using the PPT attached below. I plan to keep my students in these positions until they demonstrate that they can no longer handle it, or I think another student is deserving of the job. YOU decide how long you want your students to stay in their positions.
